IN Brief:
- Interfood Technology has acquired Creeds Direct, a specialist supplier of bakery machinery, utensils and production accessories.
- The acquisition extends Interfood's portfolio with equipment including dough mixers, pastry sheeters and bread slicers.
- Creeds will remain a separately operated business, retaining its existing team, customer relationships and specialist identity.
Interfood Technology has acquired Creeds Direct, expanding its UK bakery equipment offering with a specialist supplier of machinery, utensils and production accessories while retaining the acquired company’s independent trading identity.
The transaction brings together Interfood’s existing industrial bakery and food processing equipment activities with Creeds’ commercial machinery range and smaller items used throughout bakery production. Creeds will continue operating under its established name, retaining its team, customer relationships and specialist focus, with access to further expertise and resources through the Interfood Group.
Creeds supplies dough mixers, pastry sheeters, bread slicers and other equipment used in commercial baking, alongside bakeware, utensils and production sundries. Its catalogue covers products from more than 60 manufacturers, allowing it to serve customers purchasing individual machines as well as those maintaining an established bakery operation.
The acquired business operates from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, where its sales, administration and warehousing activities support customers across the UK. Its range includes ovens, refrigeration equipment, bread slicers, preparation machinery, tools and accessories, with specialist advice available to customers selecting or maintaining equipment.
Interfood supplies processing and packaging machinery to food manufacturers across the UK and Ireland. Its established activities include preparation, processing, inspection and packaging systems, as well as production line projects involving equipment from specialist manufacturing partners.
The combination expands the range of bakery purchases the group can support without replacing the established Creeds sales operation. A customer seeking an individual mixer or sheeter can continue dealing with Creeds, while larger production requirements may draw on machinery and application expertise elsewhere in Interfood’s portfolio.
James Fitch, head of sales for bakery at Interfood Technology, said the acquisition would add complementary machinery and expertise while preserving the characteristics customers already associate with Creeds. He confirmed that the businesses would continue to operate independently, with the acquired supplier benefiting from support available through the wider group.
Retaining the Creeds identity also preserves existing customer contacts during the ownership change. The companies have not announced a merger of their sales teams, relocation of the Aylesbury operation or changes to established customer contracts.
Interfood’s bakery offering spans individual processing applications and connected production equipment, whereas Creeds has developed a broad catalogue covering both capital machinery and regularly purchased bakery supplies. The overlap gives customers access to a wider selection of equipment and associated advice, although no exclusive supplier arrangements or changes to product distribution rights have been disclosed.
Creeds also maintains an after-sales function covering replacement components and technical enquiries. Its published support information identifies spare-parts coordination with engineers and machinery suppliers, reflecting the continuing service requirements associated with bakery equipment after the initial purchase.
Interfood’s established technical service activities may provide further support across the enlarged portfolio. However, the companies have not specified whether maintenance contracts, engineering teams or spare-parts inventories will be combined, and the acquisition announcement does not promise a new national service network or additional response-time guarantees.
The transaction value and financial terms have not been disclosed. Nor has Interfood announced additional manufacturing premises, investment in a particular bakery machinery brand or a quantified increase in equipment sales resulting from the acquisition.
The business retains a commercial presence across different scales of bakery production, from independent bakeries purchasing individual machines to industrial manufacturers investing in processing and packing systems. The acquisition extends Interfood’s reach across those equipment requirements while maintaining Creeds’ existing customer-facing operation.
Further details of combined services or additional machinery partnerships will establish how extensively the two portfolios develop under common ownership. For the immediate period, the confirmed changes are the transfer of ownership, the broader equipment offering and the continuation of Creeds as a separately operated specialist supplier.
