IN Brief:
- Ardagh has expanded its US-made stock portfolio for food brands and co-packers.
- Two 8oz flint glass ring-neck formats are offered with lug and continuous-thread finishes.
- The launch adds another domestically produced option as brands review pack formats, recyclability, and shelf presentation.
Ardagh Glass Packaging-North America has launched two newly designed 8oz flint (clear) glass ring-neck bottles for the US food market, positioned for products including dressings, sauces, and marinades.
The bottles are manufactured in the US and are available for purchase directly through Ardagh’s North American catalogue. The company is offering the design in two finish options, targeting compatibility with established closure specifications and processing lines: a lug finish and a continuous-thread (CT) finish.
In Ardagh’s product catalogue, both variants are listed at 8.73 fl oz capacity, with a bottle weight of 7.13 oz. The catalogue lists the lug-finish version with a 38-2000-F-1068 finish code and the CT version with a 38-400-F-994 finish code, both in flint glass. The two formats share the same overall dimensions in the listing: 6.988 inches in height and 2.177 inches in diameter.
The bottles are 100% recyclable and can be recycled “endlessly without any loss in purity or quality.” The company also pointed to consumer research to support the pack format, citing a 2024 EcoFocus Worldwide study which it said found that 91% of US grocery shoppers view glass packaging as the least likely to change the taste of their food, while 61% wished more foods and beverages were available in glass jars or bottles.
“Ardagh Glass Packaging is pleased to offer these new 8oz ring neck bottles that offer brands the clarity, durability and shelf appeal they expect for their products,” said Rashmi Markan, Chief Commercial Officer for Ardagh Glass Packaging-North America. “These versatile glass bottles also deliver the premium look in a trusted packaging material that consumers desire.”
Ardagh said it has been producing glass bottles in the US for more than 125 years and that the new launch sits within its wider portfolio of American-made food bottles and jars, spanning multiple sizes, styles, and finishes.
