Duni buys Solserv to expand packaging services

Duni Group has acquired Solserv to expand Nordic servicing capacity. The deal adds composting systems, packaging machinery, and aftermarket support under Duniform.

IN Brief:

  • Duni AB is acquiring 100% of Solserv under the Duniform brand.
  • Solserv supplies rapid composting machines, packaging equipment, and aftermarket services.
  • Closing is expected on 1 April 2026, adding industrial reach.

Duni AB has agreed to acquire 100% of Solserv Solutions & Services Europe AB, a Swedish business operating across rapid composting solutions, industrial packaging machinery, and aftermarket service provision.

The transaction is being executed under Duni’s Duniform brand and is positioned within the group’s Food Packaging Solutions business area, with an emphasis on strengthening capability and reach across Sweden and the wider Nordic market. Solserv’s offer includes rapid composting machines and a focus on larger packaging machinery supplied to industrial customers, alongside service, maintenance, and consumables support.

Nicklas Lauwell, Chief Officer Food Packaging Solutions at Duni Group, said the acquisition strengthens Duniform’s position within industrial and circular solutions, adding expertise, an established customer base, and a complete machinery-and-service offer to support growth in the industrial segment.

Alongside composting technology, Solserv’s machinery and aftermarket capability sits in the same operational space as sealed-packaging systems where uptime, spares availability, and field service coverage are often decisive. The company’s rapid composting equipment has been positioned for on-site organic waste processing in hospitality and foodservice contexts, with third-party case studies describing conversion cycles measured in hours rather than days.

Patrik Johansson, CEO of Solserv, said joining Duni Group and Duniform will support further development of the company’s offer and expand access to new customer segments, with the combined group providing a broader machinery, service, and sustainable-solutions package.

Solserv reports annual revenue of approximately SEK 50 million and employs six people. Closing of the transaction is expected to take place on 1 April 2026. Duni Group’s recent reporting has pointed to a challenging demand environment in parts of its European footprint, while also highlighting improved operating income in Food Packaging Solutions linked to mix effects and lower logistics costs as inventory levels normalised.

The acquisition gives Duni a direct route to expand industrial service capacity around packaging equipment and composting infrastructure in the Nordics, with Solserv’s installed base and service model folded into the Duniform platform.
