IN Brief:
- Black Forest’s everyday gummy lineup is now USDA Certified Organic.
- The reformulated range is rolling out nationwide with updated packaging.
- The change broadens certified ingredient control across an established confectionery brand.
Ferrara has shifted the entire everyday gummy lineup of its Black Forest brand to USDA Certified Organic, marking a broad reformulation and packaging transition across one of its established confectionery ranges.
The move covers the core gummy portfolio and introduces a new Black Forest Organic Gummy Forest Friends line, adding new shapes and flavours alongside the existing gummy bear range. Ferrara said the products are now made without artificial colours and flavours from real sources, and described the reformulated gummies as gluten free and fat free.
What gives the change industrial weight is its breadth. Taking a full everyday range into certified organic status is not a one-off product launch; it is a specification shift that reaches through ingredient qualification, flavour systems, colour sourcing, certification control, packaging updates, and national distribution planning. Ferrara has also refreshed the pack design, which means the transition is happening both in formulation and on shelf.
The relaunch arrives at a time when confectionery manufacturers are still trying to balance cleaner labels with price pressure and throughput discipline. Organic certification does not remove those constraints, but it does tighten the sourcing framework within which the range has to operate.
For Ferrara, the significance is less the novelty of one more gummy format than the decision to move an entire everyday platform under the same organic specification and then push it through national retail distribution at scale.
