Ishida sets out SNACKEX 2026 line-up

Ishida Europe will use SNACKEX 2026 to spotlight faster automation. The company will show weighing, bagmaking, film handling, and seal-testing systems aimed at higher throughput and tighter line control.

IN Brief:

  • SNACKEX 2026 will bring savoury snack suppliers to Lisbon on 17 and 18 June, where Ishida plans to present an integrated packaging and inspection line-up.
  • The display centres on CCW-AS weighing, INSPIRA bagmaking, compact Auto Splice film handling, and TSC-AS seal testing.
  • The package points to tighter coordination between speed, seal integrity, uptime, and energy efficiency across snack lines.

Ishida Europe will use SNACKEX 2026 in Lisbon to set out an integrated response to familiar pressures in savoury snacks: higher throughput, reduced downtime, and closer control of pack quality. Exhibiting with Heat and Control on stand 401 in Pavilion 4, the company plans to centre the display on its CCW-AS multihead weigher, alongside the INSPIRA Rotary Bagmaker, the compact Auto Splice solution, and the TSC-AS inline seal tester.

The emphasis is on keeping the line moving while reducing giveaway and rejected packs. Ishida says the CCW-AS uses automated control of hopper opening and closing profiles to improve product flow, while a revised feed system is designed to move product more quickly and consistently, including in harder-to-handle snack applications. The machine also sits within a wider efficiency push, with Ishida stating that the CCW-AS consumes less power than the previous model while aiming to maintain speed and weighing accuracy.

Bagmaking and film handling are the other obvious pressure points. Ishida’s INSPIRA rotary platform is designed for high-speed snack formats, with top mechanical speeds of up to 250 bags per minute, while the Auto Splice system is intended to reduce interruptions during reel changes by heat-sealing film reels together for near-continuous running. The addition of a compact Auto Splice model is significant because it gives processors a smaller-footprint option alongside the fully automatic revolver version, widening the choice for lines where space, capital spend, or both remain constrained.

That matters because reel handling still creates an outsized share of avoidable stoppages on fast snack lines. A system that shortens changeovers and cuts the scope for operator error does not transform a line on its own, but it can remove one of the recurring interruptions that drags down actual output against rated speed. In that sense, Ishida’s SNACKEX line-up is less about isolated machine performance than about tightening the links between weighing, bag formation, film management, and downstream quality assurance.

Quality control is being pushed further downstream through the TSC-AS, which checks packs directly from the bagmaker for seal defects and incorrect inflation. Ishida says the inline, non-destructive system can detect leakage equivalent to a 3 mm hole at speeds of up to 150 bags per minute. On high-volume snack lines, where trapped product in seals and inconsistent pack inflation can quickly turn into waste, rework, or complaints, that makes seal testing a production issue as much as a quality issue.

SNACKEX opens in Lisbon on 17 June, and Ishida’s line-up suggests the company is aiming to show how several relatively focused interventions can be combined to lift line stability. Further details are available via Ishida’s events page.
