IN Brief:
- Hapman is highlighting its PosiPortion feeder for food-grade bulk material applications.
- The system combines gravimetric and volumetric feeding with design features aimed at flow reliability, product integrity, and easier cleaning.
- Material testing and application assessment are being used to match feeder configuration to individual processing requirements.
Hapman is drawing attention to its PosiPortion feeding system as processors continue to push for tighter control over bulk ingredient handling, dosing accuracy, and line uptime. The feeder is designed for both gravimetric and volumetric weighing applications, giving operators a way to manage ingredient flow more precisely across blending, batching, and continuous process environments.
The company says the system is intended for materials that can be difficult to move consistently, including products prone to bridging, degradation, segregation, or agglomeration. To address that, the PosiPortion uses a flexible-wall hopper to maintain flow performance, while external paddle agitators are designed to keep material moving without compromising product quality.
That combination gives the feeder a clear place in applications where recipe integrity and repeatability matter as much as throughput. Hapman says the system is capable of handling materials ranging from fine powders to larger granules, while maintaining the controlled delivery needed for consistent dosing and process stability.
The mechanical design also reflects the maintenance burden that often comes with ingredient handling equipment. Hapman says the feeder is built on a structural tubing frame for stability and system integration, with quick-coupled components intended to simplify disassembly and cleaning. In food plants, where changeovers and sanitation routines can dictate available production time, those design decisions can carry as much weight as nominal feed accuracy.
Hapman, which says it has supported more than 12,000 applications over more than 80 years in bulk material handling, is pairing the feeder with application assessment and material testing services to determine the right configuration before installation. More details are available on the PosiPortion feeder page and via Hapman’s application assessment service.
